Minnesota Chapter

The Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy seeks to increase access, opportunity and ownership for Black and other communities of color in the energy sector and related fields, through a focus on community engagement, policy, economic inclusion and education / professional development.

  • Develop shared knowledge and engage in outreach to inform the Black community of opportunities and needs, encourage participation and community ownership.
  • To ensure Black wealth creation and issues of environmental justice are addressed on the legislative level and Black representation on taskforces, committees and other tables of influence.
  • Economic Inclusion directed to Black talent pipeline development, career advancement and leadership positions, and supplier participation in energy related contracts and accelerated company growth.
  • Support for Black community training programs; partnerships with career development centers, alliances with unions and technical schools; and scholarships for education and career training.

Our chapter is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota with involvement of members throughout the Twin Cities metro and beyond.
