New York Metropolitan Chapter

The New York Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE-NYMAC) proudly represents one of four chapters in the Northeast Region of the United States. Established in 1987, AABE-NYMAC is composed of dedicated professionals from leading energy companies such as Consolidated Edison of New York (Con Edison and Orange & Rockland) and National Grid.

AABE-NYMAC has actively contributed to the growth and leadership of the national organization, with four current members serving on the AABE National Board of Directors and three members having held the esteemed position of Chair of the National Board.

In alignment with AABE’s national mission, AABE-NYMAC is deeply committed to advancing the voice and presence of Black professionals in the energy sector. Through a strong focus on education, mentorship, community service, and business networking, AABE-NYMAC creates pathways for both professionals and students to explore and thrive in the energy industry.

Our mission is to empower energy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and students by providing opportunities to grow through industry education, leadership development, meaningful mentorship, and strategic connection within the broader energy community.
