Florida Chapter
What is AABE Florida?
The Florida chapter of AABE (AABE FL) is one of 38 active chapters in six geographic regions operating under the affiliation with the national organization. Since its inception 24 years ago, AABE FL has grown to 118-chapter members, representing companies such JEA, Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), Florida Power & Light (FPL, Duke Energy and NextEra Energy and other utilities & companies in the State of Florida.
We are divided into 4 regions to allow members to meet more locally with 4 area coordinators.
JEA currently has 32 active members in AABE FL, with four holding Board positions:

- Secretary: Tawana Fairell-Simmons
- Treasurer: Kendra Cash
AABE FL members engage in professional development, community outreach and membership growth initiatives in the ever-evolving energy industry. The chapter cultivates a future talent pipeline for the energy industry through high school- and college-level scholarship programs.
AABE FL holds general membership meetings each quarter—with two in-person and two held virtually.
