Louisiana Chapter

The AABE Louisiana Chapter is a 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our mission is to provide energy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and students a pathway to learn and grow within the energy industry through mentoring and educational programs; entrepreneurial outreach; community service initiatives and networking events in the state of Louisiana.

Our Purpose

  • To serve as a resource for policy discussion of the economic, social and political impact of environmental and energy policies on our community
  • To ensure involvement of all within in governmental energy policymaking by recommending capable, sensitive and informed personnel to appropriate officials.
  • To encourage both the public and private sectors to be responsive to the problems, goals and aspirations of the underrepresented in energy-related fields.
  • To invite students to pursue careers in energy-related fields and to provide scholarships and other financial aid for such students. Within the Louisiana Chapter, we have several member led committees

Legislative Issues & Public Policy Committee (LIPP)
The Legislative Issues & Public Policy Committee advances AABE’s advocacy work by developing and sharing positions on energy and environmental issues important to communities of color.

Membership Committee
Our membership committee ensures you are fully aware of your membership status, provides support to new members, and ensures our chapter’s growth through Power Networking Plus 1 events and meet-ups.

B.E.A.M Committee
The B.E.A.M Committee promotes education through our Energy Chat Series and our Power Circuit Tour every October during Black Energy Awareness Month.

Student Committee
The Student Committee is dedicated to supporting students. It focuses on inspiring and accelerating their career and professional development in the energy industry by providing opportunities to network with professionals from energy companies and gaining valuable industry exposure through co-ops/internships.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee oversees AABE’s financial management, including budgeting, investments, and fiscal planning.

Communications Committee
Ensure that chapter members receive any communication surrounding chapter activities, events, and updates.
